How I Built My Own Crochet Toy Generator From a Photo

If you’ve ever wanted to turn a photo of your dog, your kid, or your favorite mug into a crochet toy, you’ve probably searched for the right app and come up short. Here’s how I stopped looking and built my own crochet toy generator instead — one that works exactly the way I crochet.

Here’s the DIY guide to how to create a crochet pattern on your own:

  2. Snap or upload a photo. I used a picture of my sister’s corgi. You can use a person, animal, or object.
